The registration process for the Nanda Gaura Yojana (NGY) has commenced and will continue till November 30, the Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya said. Informing this Arya said that Eligible girls who have completed their class XI in the academic year 2023-24 and are enrolling in higher education for the current financial year 2024-25 can apply online at the website www.nandagaurauk.in. Additionally, parents of eligible beneficiaries born in the financial year 2024-25 are also required to apply on the same portal. The application portal is open continuously for newborn beneficiaries, with a mandatory requirement to apply within six months of birth, she said. She emphasised that the said beneficiaries are applicable to register themselves under the NGY at the online website till November 30.
She further added that through the NGY an amount of Rs 11,000 is granted upon the birth of a girl child, and an additional sum of Rs 51,000 is allocated when she successfully completes Class XII and pursues further studies in graduation or diploma courses. She emphasised that this initiative is a part of the state government’s ambitious scheme, aimed at bridging the gap in treatment between sons and daughters.
Apart from this, Arya stated that she has also instructed the officials of the WECD department to finalise the rules and regulations of the single women self-employment scheme and women’s welfare fund within a week, as they have not been completed yet. In case of any technical issues, the officials can communicate with her and provide updates on the situation, she said.
