In latest news from Uttarakhand, Kumaon Motor Owners’ Union Limited (KMOU) is all set to start online booking services for its 162 buses plying in districts like Pithoragarh, Almora, Champawat, Bageshwar and Nainital. As the number of buses operated by the Roadways is not enough compared to the number of passengers and tourists and the taxi fares are exorbitant, the people mostly avail KMOU service for travelling. However, getting seats in these buses is uncertain and to secure seats, the passengers have to come to bus stations hours before the buses start. KMOU claims that with the onset of the online seat booking arrangement, this problem would be solved. Seats can be booked a day before the journey. KMOU further says that the trial of the online booking being successfully completed, it would be launched in a few days. Intially, the buses which operate on the main roads would have the online seat booking facility and in near future all the buses under KMOU would have the same facility.
