Online training on gender sensitisation starts at GBPUAT

The department of Agricultural Communication, College of Agriculture under Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar started a collaborative online training programme on gender sensitisation and women-led extension which will continue till January 24. The inaugural session was presided over by the dean of the College of Agriculture, GBPUAT, S K Kashyap and deputy director (Gender Studies) at MANAGE, Hyderabad Veenita Kumari.
Veenita Kumari emphasised on gender-inclusive agriculture, women-led extension approaches and integrating traditional agricultural practices. She underlined the significant role women play in sustainable agricultural development. Kashyap, in his address, discussed the challenges women face in agriculture and stressed the value of such initiatives in addressing gender disparities and empowering women.
A total of 62 scientists from various universities joined on the inaugural day.
