The state health department reported only 19 new patients of Covid-19 in Uttarakhand on Saturday. Death of no patient was reported by the department on the day. Incidentally all the districts of the state barring Dehradun reported five or less cases of the disease on the day.
The authorities also declared 28 patients cured on the day. The department has so far detected 91,796 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 87,940 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 271 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 95.80 per cent on Saturday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 0.30 per cent on the day.
The health department reported eight new patients from Dehradun, five from Chamoli, two from Pauri and one each from Bageshwar, Nainital, Tehri and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Saturday. No new patients were found in the Almora, Champawat, Haridwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Uttarkashi districts of the day.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 378. Dehradun with 148 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Haridwar has 46 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar and Tehri are at the bottom of the table with only two active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 2,790 people were vaccinated in 718 sessions in the state held on Saturday.
