OPD timings change for winter in district hospital

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
The administration of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospital has adjusted the OPD hours to facilitate easier access for patients as winter approaches. Informing about this, the principal medical superintendent Dr Manu Jain informed that during the summer months, the OPD was open from 8 AM to 2 PM. However, with the arrival of winter, the hospital routinely modifies the OPD schedule. Starting November 1, the new winter OPD hours have been scheduled from 9 AM to 3 PM and will remain in effect until February 28, he said.
He stated that all doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel have been notified about the changes in operating hours.
Additionally, he added that during the winter months, it becomes challenging for individuals, especially the elderly, to attend the outpatient department (OPD) early in the morning for treatment. In light of this, the schedule has been adjusted annually. Jain said that during this season, both the elderly and children are more susceptible to infections and other health issues.
During this time, viral infections, colds, coughs, heart attacks and various other ailments become quite prevalent among individuals. In light of this, it is advised that people avoid unnecessary exposure to cold weather, wear appropriate clothing, maintain a comfortable room temperature and drink warm water, among other recommendations, he stated.
