Oral Health Day observed at B D Pandey Hospital

To mark the World Oral Health Day, the dental department at the Government B D Pandey District Hospital conducted an awareness campaign on oral hygiene among patients and those who came with them.

A dental surgeon Dr Tanuta Pal said that the theme this year was healthy mouth and healthy brain. “This theme has been set to emphasise the relationship between oral health and mental well-being. People have to be made aware of their oral hygiene.  As many as 11,323 people were treated for their teeth problems last year.  Till February this year, 1593 people have reached the hospital due to teeth- related problems,” the dentist said, adding that the campaign would continue for one month. Awareness camps will be organised in schools. Besides, marathon race, talk shows and street plays will be hosted. “We will also put up hoardings and banners. This apart, we will conduct campaign on social media,” Dr Pal said.

Among those present was the chief medical officer Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta.
