Says Jageshwar will be developed as fifth Dham in the State

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is committed to protect and conserve the culture in Uttarakhand. He averred that encroachments would be removed and the uniform civil code would be implemented in the State. The CM was addressing the annual function of the Shri Kalyanika Himalaya Devasthanam at Dol Ashram in Almora on Friday. He offered prayers for peace and prosperity of the people of the State on the occasion.

Praising the Ashram, the CM said that on the one hand it is promoting religious tourism and on the other it is educating youths about the Indian culture. He said that the Ashram is an example of our ancient culture and traditions and is the centre of spirituality and Sadhana.

Dhami said that Maharaj Kalyan Das did Sadhana for five decades and set up many institutions in the country for educating the poor and providing health facilities to them. He announced that three new parking spots would be developed in the Ashram and efforts would be made to upgrade the Sanskrit Vidyalaya of the  Ashram into a college or university. 

The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government is moving ahead on the path of making a new Uttarakhand. The CM said that efforts are being made to develop Jageshwar as the fifth Dham in the State. Reiterating the commitment for protection of culture, he said that a stringent anti conversion law has been enacted by the State government.

Wishing the people of the State on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the CM said that everyone should follow the path of peace and non violence preached by Mahatma Buddha.

He said that the Ashram would be the part of the proposed Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission. He said that the Manaskhand and Kailash Mansarovar Yatra would be undertaken on the lines of the Char Dham Yatra and Dol Ashram, and Jageshwar would be major stopovers in the Yatra. He said that the master plan of the Manaskhand Yatra is ready and it would start from Jageshwar. The Jageshwar MLA Mohan Singh Mehra, Almora MLA Manoj Tiwari, former speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal, Maharaj Kalyan Das and others were present on the occasion.
