Senior BJP leaders presented a report card of the government’s works on State government completing two years in office. In Dehradun, senior party leader Devendra Bhasin said that the BJP candidates are approaching the public with the works of the government and the party while the Congress has declared only three candidates with the announcement of two candidates still pending. The achievements of the government will guarantee the victory of the BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, he said. Referring to the Income Tax department serving notices to Congress Garhwal candidate Ganesh Godiyal, he said that the government in the nation had changed and unlike in the past, everyone who tampers with the honest system will have to pay the price.
Addressing the media, Bhasin said that during the past 24 months, the State government had converted 48 guarantees into reality. These works were promised by the party and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections. “We can confidently say that our government has fulfilled most of the commitments made to the public and is moving forward to fulfill the remaining. Our government made strict laws and took historic decisions which have been appreciated by the Centre and various State governments. By passing the Uniform Civil Code bill, we have given uniform law for all citizens to ensure the safety and prosperity of women, the elderly, children and youth. Our government has acted effectively against land jihad, love jihad, provided government job reservation for statehood activists and sportspersons, signed investment MoUs worth Rs 3.54 lakh crore and also achieved unprecedented improvement in the infrastructure with support from the Centre,” Bhasin said.
Replying to allegations levelled by the opposition, he said that the BJP candidates are going to win with record margins on all five parliamentary seats in Uttarakhand on the basis of works done by the Modi government in the past 10 years and Dhami government in the past two years. The Congress sensed this and its leaders were hesitating to enter the electoral field fearing defeat.
