Lauding the ancient Indian scriptures as the repository of knowledge about the secrets of the universe, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stressed on developing this knowledge in the modern, scientific perspective for the world to realise the greatness of India. He said this while addressing the closing ceremony of the 62nd All India Shastraotsav Competition organised at Patanjali University here on Friday. “Indian scriptures contain some amazing formulas which are being reflected in modern knowledge and science,” he said.
While observing that the ancient scriptures were the foundations on which the Indian heritage is based, Dhami said that the deep knowledge enshrined in the Indian science, yoga, medicine, mathematics and philosophy provides keys to explore the universal mysteries. “Now, we must present the Vedas and the scriptures in a practical way blended with science so that the knowledge becomes beneficial for entire humanity,” Dhami said, adding that Sanskrit and scriptures would prove instrumental in India’s ascendancy in the world.
In his address, the chancellor of Patanjali University Yoga Guru Ramdev said that the All-India Shastraotsav organised by the university epitomised the confluence of Sanskrit and culture while stressing on promotion of Sanskrit language to re-establish the Indian knowledge tradition.
The vice-chancellor of Patanjali University, Acharya Balkrishna said that Sanskrit and Indian knowledge tradition might guide humanity for true progress in life.
Among others present at the closing ceremony was the former Union Education minister and former chief minister of Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
