Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that more than 13,000 entrepreneurs in the State have been supported so far under the Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Yojana. He said this on Friday while inaugurating Chaupal-2026 organised under MUY at his residence.
The CM said more than 8,000 women entrepreneurs and self-help group members have also been linked to entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities. Addressing the inaugural session, he also announced the opening of a State-level marketing centre at ‘Terah Gaon’ located near IT Park, Dehradun for marketing products of self-help groups from all districts.
Dhami said villages are not only participating in the State’s development but are playing a crucial role in building self-reliant Uttarakhand. He said youth and women have desire and skill and local products have potential to reach national and international markets. Through this Yojana government aims to make youth job creators, not job seekers and strengthen the economic condition of farmers and women, he said.
He said through the National Rural Livelihood Mission, over five lakh rural women have been linked to more than 70,000 self-help groups in the State. More than three lakh women have become Lakhpati Didi. Women are turning mountain spices, Mandua, Jhangora, pulses, honey, pickles, jams, handicrafts, woolen products and local art into business, he said.
CM said a major objective of rural entrepreneurship is to prevent migration. Mukhyamantri Udyamshala Chaupals are being organised in all 13 districts to ensure more people know about government schemes. Publicity vans are being sent to villages to spread information about this Yojana, he said.
During the event, the CM honoured Lakhpati Didis and women entrepreneurs. He released a book and annual report prepared under Uttarakhand State Rural Livelihood Mission and launched Integrated Agriculture Cluster Basic Training Module, Infant and Young Child Nutrition Module and Anemia Prevention and Management Module in Women and Children.
