In order to provide aid under CM Vatsalya Yojana to those children who have lost one or both parents or the earning member of their family to the Covid-19 disease, the Dehradun district administration has started collecting data through various officials.
As informed by the district probation officer (DPO) Meena Bisht, the administration has collected the data of over 200 children who were found eligible to be the beneficiaries of the recently launched CM Vatsalya Yojana. Bisht said that the administration is receiving this data with the assistance of various officials like sub divisional magistrates (SDMs), Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and Anganwadi workers who are collecting information of eligible beneficiaries in their respective areas across the district.
“Besides receiving data from the officials, we are also receiving information of such children through various calls and e-mails. Since we widely advertised about CM Vatsalya Yojana through various media outlets in order to provide the intended help to the beneficiaries on time, people are regularly approaching us to inform about such children,” informed the DPO. She also stated that the data of over 200 children was collected in about 15 days and the number will possibly increase in the next few days. She also appealed to people to approach the administration to inform about such children who can be benefitted under this scheme as according to her, the right data will help the government to effectively reach out to beneficiaries soon.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State Government recently announced that under CM Vatsalya Yojana, the Government would provide monthly aid of Rs 3,000 to such children who lost one or both parents or the earning member of the family to Covid till they attain the age of 21 years. Besides this, the Government has also declared to provide free ration, education and health facilities to the beneficiaries of this scheme.
