Over 2,200 students participate in 4th National Fest of EMRS

Over 2,200 students from 22 states of the country showcased their skills and paid tribute to the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities on the second day of the fourth National Cultural Fest of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS). The fest is being organised at Dehradun’s Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and the State Eklavya Vidyalaya Sangathan Samiti (EVSS). Speaking about the fest, director of the State Tribal Welfare, Sanjay Singh Toliya stated, “The EMRS National Cultural Fest is a testament to the incredible talents and cultural wealth that our tribal communities bring to the forefront. It is heart-warming to witness these young talents from across the nation come together in Dehradun to share their cultures and traditions through various performances and competitions. This event exemplifies the unity in diversity that defines our country.” On the second day of the fest, students engaged in various competitions including solo and group singing, English and Hindi Debate, on the spot painting, English poem, Kavya Path and Sanskrit Shlok recitation for the junior category, 2D and 3D Visual Arts and Drama among other categories. Besides this, the teachers also competed in semi classical and classical singing competitions. The renowned artist Maya Upadhyaya also performed in the fest. Toliya said that the cultural fest is a unique platform for young talents to shine while celebrating the diversity and richness of tribal cultures in India. He said that it encourages artistic expression as well as fosters cultural exchange and appreciation among participants and spectators alike. The fourth edition of the fest will end on Friday in which hundreds of students will continue to showcase their talent.
