Over eight lakh beneficiaries avail free treatment under Ayushman Yojana

The number of beneficiaries under the Ayushman Yojana being run by the State Health Authority (SHA) is showing a study increase in Uttarakhand. As per the information received from SHA, over 51.44 lakh people have so far received Ayushman cards and over 8.28 lakh beneficiaries have availed free treatment facility under this scheme. The State government has spent more than Rs 1500 crore on the implementation of this health scheme.

Dwelling on the importance the State government is attaching to the execution of this scheme, the newly appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of the State Health Authority, Anand Srivastava said on Wednesday that it is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the common people of the State are fully benefited by this scheme. “In all, 102 government and 139 private hospitals have been listed under the scheme. Besides, awareness programmes are being organised across Uttarakhand from time to time by SHA to make sure that no one is left out of this immensely beneficial health scheme. Such campaigns are yielding positive results as the number of Ayushman cards rolled out so far has shot up to staggering  51.44 lakh. The State government still keeps sending directives aimed at further enhancement of this scheme,” he said, adding that Rs 1554 crore has been spent so far in facilitating free medical service to the people under Ayushman Yojana.

He further said that they are going all-out to further speed up things. “The problems coming in the way of smooth implementation of this scheme are being addressed and resolved at the earliest,” the CEO, SHA said.
