Over six lakh pilgrims have registered online for the Char Dham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib. According to the officials, over 6,07,368 pilgrims registered online by 5 PM on Sunday. They said that the registration process, available on the official yatra web portal registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in and the Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile app, has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm.
According to official data, 1,09,824 pilgrims have registered for Yamunotri Dham, 1,12,933 for Gangotri Dham, 1,95,709 for Kedarnath Dham and 1,82,377 for Badrinath Dham. Besides this, 6,525 devotees have registered for the Hemkund Sahib Yatra so far. The officials said that to assist pilgrims, the Tourism department has also been actively responding to queries through its 24×7 toll-free helpline 01351364.
So far, 2,926 pilgrims have sought assistance through this service, they said. The State government had initiated the registration process well in advance this year to ensure a smooth and well-organised pilgrimage season. With a mix of online and offline registrations, authorities aim to prevent overcrowding and streamline the management of devotees.
The number of registration centres along key locations, including Haridwar and Rishikesh, has been increased, with facilities operating round the clock for the first 15 days of the yatra. The officials said that with the yatra set to commence on April 30, authorities are working to ensure a safe and hassle free experience for all devotees.
