In breaking news, Mahendra Singh Dhoni dismissed retirement from IPL speculation after he helmed the Chennai Super Kings to a fifth title, saying that the love of his fans has inspired him to play again in the next season. Speculation was running rife since the commencement of this season, that this would be his last one. The speculation gained further momentum with the spectators showering him with overwhelming love at every ground he played. After Chennai Super Kings won the final, beating Gujarat Titans by five wickets, when he was asked about retirement, he said that it was the ideal time for his retirement. Explaining things, he said that it was now tough for him to play one more season as his body might not cooperate with the strains involved in it. Then he hastened to add that in grateful recognition of the love the Chennai fans have showered on him, he has decided to play one more season. However, he made it clear at the same time that this is the last phase of his career.
