Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude for the support and affection he received during his roadshow in Dehradun. He said that the sheer number of people turning out for the 12-kilometre roadshow made it difficult for him to drive quickly to the rally. This roadshow, which marked the longest ever undertaken by the PM, took place as he headed to the programme venue in Garhi cantonment.
According to the officials, thousands of young people, women and citizens lined both sides of the road, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere filled with chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”. Folk dances from various parts of the State were also performed at select points along the PM’s route. The PM acknowledged the people’s greetings with folded hands and waves, appearing delighted by the outpouring of love and support.
In his address, he reflected on this unprecedented welcome, stating that he always draws special energy from the land of gods, Uttarakhand. He said that the affection and blessings of the people inspire him to work for the country’s development and that he is leaving Uttarakhand with renewed energy once again.
