Pandavas make a splash at Magh Mela

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the traditional culture of the Mahabharata era came alive in the Pandava dance at a Magh Mela  pandal in Sarnaul village known as the Pandava village. The Mahabharata era culture is still alive here. The ghodi dance of Arjun and Bheem drew huge crowd.  
The Shivlinga that Yudhishthira is supposed to have installed in the courtyard of the Lakheshwar temple in Lakhamandal during the Pandavas’ exile is still present even today. After losing everything in gambling to the Kaurava brothers, the Pandavas had spent 13 years in exile and one year incognito. The condition of the exile was that if the Pandavas were recognised during this time, they would again have to spend 13 years in exile and one year incognito. That is why the Pandavas lived here in disguise.  

During the Pandava dance, the Ghodi dance of Arjun and Bheem drew people in large numbers. This dance depicted the events of the Pandavas’ exile and incognito period.
