Professor Durgesh Pant has assumed charge as the director general of the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST). He was serving as the director of computer science and IT at Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani when he was appointed the UCOST DG by the State government. In the past he has also served as the director of the Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC).
Known for his experience of working in the Department of Science and Technology, Pant is also credited for establishing the computer science department in the Kumaon university. It is expected that under his direction the start and timely completion of UCOST’s science city project will also be achieved.
