Pantnagar University celebrates its 65th foundation day

The country’s first agriculture university and the harbinger of Green Revolution, G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar celebrated its 65th foundation day for a week period starting from November 11. A host of academic and cultural programms were presented to mark the occasion. Among the dignitaries present were the university’s vice chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan and ICARDA- Regional Coordinator for South Asia and China S K Agrawal.
In his address, the VC said that the productive thinking and hard work of the students and scientists have kept the institute’s reputation alive. He also praised the university’s scientists for their continuous efforts in conducting new research and developing new techniques and varieties of different crops. Agrawal highlighted the importance of digitisation in agriculture and use of AI, Machine Learning and other innovative technologies.
