Laksar and Roorkee witnessed heavy rainfall on Monday while light to moderate rain was experienced in other parts of the State. The State meteorological centre has issued an orange warning (Be Prepared) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh nagar districts on Tuesday.The centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora and Haridwar districts today. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts, and at most places in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, Laksar and Roorkee experienced heavy rain on Monday with 98 millimetres and 81.2 degrees Celsius respectively. Moderate rain was witnessed in other parts with 52 millimetres in Dehradun, 46 millimetres in Laldhang, 40.5 millimetres in Raiwala, 26 millimetres in Chamba and 25 millimetres in Kotdwar.
The rain experienced since the early hours and cloudy conditions resulted in a drop in temperature in Dehradun where the maximum and minimum temperatures were 27.8 degrees Celsius and 24.2 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum and minimum temperatures in other parts of the State were 35.2 degrees Celsius and 27.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Pantnagar, 19.9 degrees Celsius and 15.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.4 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
