Yoga guru Swami Ramdev said that after the successful Yoga revolution, Patanjali will bring about a revolution in five aspects- education, medical treatment, economy, ideology-cultural and freedom from vices, disease and frustration. He said this while addressing the gathering at a programme held in Haridwar to mark 30 years of the Patanjali institution on Sunday. More than 6,000 in-charges of Patanjali Yogpeeth organisation attended the event in which Ramdev spoke about the works, struggles and achievements of the institution in the past 30 years.
Stating that the first revolution will be the freedom of education, he said that about 50 to 90 per cent and in some cases 99 per cent of educated people are unemployed, gripped by vices and lack character, adding that their childhood and youth is threatened. “We have decided that first in Bharat and then across the world, we will herald a new education system, which will be headed by Bharat. Patanjali Gurukulam, Acharyakulam, University of Patanjali and Bharatiya Shiksha Board will set records now. We are aiming to get five lakh schools affiliated with the Bharatiya Shiksha Board in the next five years, which will bring about a revolution in education,” he said.
Ramdev said that the focus will be on including information about the whole world in Hindi, English and Sanskrit, keeping abreast of the world even as 80 per cent of the content will be from the Veda, philosophy, Upanishads and regarding the glory of India. This will also include spiritual knowledge, Sanatan and Bharatiya knowledge. Once one lakh and then five lakh schools are affiliated with the Bharatiya Shiksha Board, the childhood and youth of India will be secure, which is what the commitment to freedom of education is about, he added.
Regarding the revolution in medical treatment, he said that the people across the world are damaging their bodies with synthetic drugs, steroids, painkillers and other such chemicals. “We are moving forward with the efforts of Patanjali Wellness, Yoggram, Niramayam and Arogya Kendra along with modern research and the heritage passed down by our ancient Rishis along with modern science. We have published more than 5,000 research protocols and 500 research papers in internally reputed journals to present the way for the cure of so called incurable ailments. We are committed to enable people to remain healthy and help them get rid of any disease they may be afflicted by through the use of Yoga- Ayurveda,” Ramdev said.
He also spoke in detail about Patanjali’s plan for a revolution in the economic sphere while also informing that so far Patanjali had done charity work amounting to Rs one lakh crore in spheres including education, health, research, character building and nation building. By enabling people to give up pharmaceuticals for various ailments and ensuring the proper treatment of these health issues, Patanjali is saving crores of rupees of the nation, he claimed.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishna said that Patanjali is inspiring the world due to the efforts and character of Ramdev. Stating that 100 per cent profit of Patanjali is only for charity, he said that it doesn’t view India as a market but as a family. A team of more than 500 world-class scientists are involved in research at Patanjali to provide research and evidence based medicines and health solutions to the world, he added.
