The Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital was officially inaugurated in Patanjali Yog Peeth here on Friday in the presence of the Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna. The Patanjali sources said that the patients would be provided with facilities like MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound and pathological tests and complex surgeries involving brain, heart and spine will be conducted at this newly inaugurated hospital. This aside, the charges for these medical facilities will be kept minimal.

Inaugurating the hospital, Ramdev said that this was just the beginning. “A health facility even larger than AIIMS, Apollo and Medanta will soon come up in Delhi-NCR. Significantly, these will not operate as corporate hospitals but as ones catering to the patients and not to business. Our aim is to provide health to patients through an integrative medicine system,” he asserted.

He further said that in tune with the Patanjali vision, modern medical science would be used only in cases of emergency. “This will be a new medical approach for the whole world. We will use modern medical science only in emergencies. We have dedicated physicians wedded to this new vision. On one side, we have Vaidyas and naturopaths and on the other, doctors well-versed in modern medical science. Along with them, paramedical staff are available to provide testing using state-of-the-art equipment,” he added.

“All surgeries except cancer are available here. In future, we will introduce cancer surgery, too,” he declared.   .
Addressing the inaugural programme, Balkrishna said that modern medical science is only 20 per cent necessary for medical care. “If we add 80 per cent traditional medicine to this, we will be successfully streamlining the global medical system in four to five years. While we must embrace modern medical science for critical care, we must also embrace Yoga and Ayurveda as solutions for diseases considered incurable,” he observed.
