Senior leaders of Congress party including the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, Harak Singh Rawat, Brahmswarup Brahamchari, Vijay Saraswat and Satpal Brahamchari took part in a programme organised to pay homage to late Swami Bageshwaranand Maharaj at Chetan Jyoti Ashram in Haridwar on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahara said that only the path of spirituality is the path of the truth. He said that the virtues and culture is getting diminished from among society and the younger generation. The culture of hedonism is becoming prevalent and under the influence of western culture the children are not heeding to the advice of their parents. The relationship between the Guru and his disciple is missing in the age of convent education. He said that under such gloomy conditions the path shown by the saints shows a path of hope for humanity. He opined that only feelings of devotion can be dedicated to the Guru. Mahara said that today’s generation should take inspiration from the lives of the Saints. This would ensure that the younger generation remains connected with the culture and values. He added that the idea of the developed and Shrestha Bharat can be fulfilled only with the inspirations of the saints.The programme was presided over by the Mahamandaleshwar Swami Parmahatma Dev Maharaj.
