With the Neelkanth Shrawan Mela and Kanwar Yatra commencing from July 4 in Laxman Jhula of Yamkeshwar block under Pauri district, the district administration and the police are now gearing up. As per their estimation, the number of devotees attending the religious fair and the Yatra may break the turnout records of last year. The district administration and police officials aver that they are taking all initiatives to make the arrangements fool- proof. The Pauri district magistrate Ashish Chauhan is himself monitoring the arrangements as per his announcement made during his meeting with the officers concerned of different departments.

Furthermore, the DM instructed the food safety department to ensure that the quality food stuffs are sold to the devotees. Sanitation being stressed, 50 mobile toilets will be installed.
On the other side, senior superintendent of police Pauri Shweta Choubey directed the officials concerned to construct a 12 km-long temporary pedestrian road going to Neelkanth temple through Barrage Bypass trisection, Muni Baba trisection and Muni Baba ashram and divide this 12- km stretch into three sectors. Choubey said that the sector -3 area might witness the largest crowd of devotees and so it needs special attention.
Choubey stressed on security of the pedestrian road being maintained through deployment of police patrolling teams equipped with wireless sets. Seven digital centres for the missing persons would be established in Janki Bridge Chowki, Muni Baba trisection, Pundrasu, Ramjhula bridge, Garur Chatti, Pipalkoti and Neelkanth Chowki covering the entire Kanwar Mela area of Pauri district.
