The district police have arrested a resident of Bihar accused of molesting a minor girl. The accused Jeevan alias Guddu was arrested from Dadamandi near Dugadda in the district on Wednesday.
On April 8, a resident of Kotdwar had filed a first information report in Kotwali police station in which he accused Jeevan of molesting his minor daughter The police registered a case against Jeevan under section 376 of Indian Penal Code and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Taking cognisance of the crime, the Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey instructed the local police to constitute a team to arrest the accused. Acting on the tip offs and using surveillance the police team arrested the accused from Dadamandi.
