In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Pauri police made the first arrest in the case of sting video which purportedly showed some education department officers taking bribes. Informing this, the Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey said that police had nabbed a desk assistant Dinesh Gairola who is one of the accused officers of the education department. Notably, a Pauri resident Asutosh Negi had lodged a police complaint on the basis of the sting video and the accused included the chief education officer and district education officer aside from the desk assistant of the education department. The police had initially started investigation at the level of the circle officer and then following the nod given by the administration, the Pauri police station had registered a graft case against the CEO, DEO and desk assistant in December last year.
