Pauri Police arrests drug peddler in Kotdwar

The district Police arrested a drug peddler, Sher Khan, and recovered 7.50 gram of smack from his possession in the Kotwali police station area of Kotdwar on Tuesday night. The police have registered a case against Khan under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act. 

 It is the second arrest of a drug peddler by the district police in the last four days.  It is pertinent to mention here that recently the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shweta Choubey had instructed the officers to take strict action against drug peddlers and liquor smugglers. On the instruction of the newly appointed SSP, the additional superintendent of police, (ASP) Kotdwar, Sekhar Chandra Suyal constituted a team under  Inspector Vijay  Singh and Inspector Mohammad Akram.

The police team arrested Sher Khan from the Jaunpur area in Kotdwar during a checking drive and recovered 7.50 gram smack from him. The arrested  Sher khan informed the police that he brought the contraband from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.
