Pauri police nab murder accused within 24 hours

The Pauri district police have arrested a man accused of murder within 24 hours of the crime being reported. The police team arrested the absconding accused from Haryana. According to information provided by the police, resident of Sigaddi in Yanmkeshar area, Chaman Lal lodged a first information report in the revenue police post on January 16 that his brother was found dead at Siyalkut Tok on January 13. He was bleeding from the head and the victim’s brother had named Vikram Singh as the suspect in the crime. The revenue police registered a case against Vikram Singh under section 303 of IPC. The case was transferred from revenue police to the regular police by district administration considering the seriousness of the case.
Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey handed over the case to sub-inspector Pratap Singh of the Lakshmanjhula police station and directed formation of a team to arrest the absconding accused. Acting on surveillance and tip offs, the police team managed to arrest the accused from Jagadharu in Haryana late on Friday night within 24 hours of the case being transferred from the revenue police. The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 2,500 for the team which arrested the accused.
