Pauri police recovers money in online fraud cases

The cyber cell of the Pauri district police has recovered a sum of Rs 49,663 amount from the fraudsters and handed over the money to the two victims of the online fraud in the month of August this year.
According to police, Aman Bahuguna, a resident of Kotdwar complained on August 16 that some unknown person had defrauded him of Rs 24663 on the pretext of providing a job. The cyber cell recovered the complete amount and refunded it to the victim. Similarly Preeti Rana, a resident of Nursery road, Srinagar complained on August 18 that some unknown person defrauded her of Rs 25,000. Acting swiftly the cyber cell was able to recover the complete amount.
Despite the awareness drive of the police in the different parts of the district on the instruction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yashwant Chauhan, the cases of cyber crime in the district are continuing to increase.
