The Bharatiya Janata Party has reiterated that its candidates will win in all the five Lok Sabha constituencies in the State and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be re-elected for his third term in office. The party is focusing on achieving its aim of winning the seats by a margin of five lakh. On Tuesday, the party’s State in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, State president Mahendra Bhatt and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, among other leaders, expressed their views at the inauguration of the BJP State election media centre here.
Announcing the schedule of filing of nomination by party candidates, Bhatt said that Haridwar candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat will file his nomination online on March 22 and then do it elaborately on the next day in accordance with the sentiments of the party workers. In the presence of the CM, the Almora candidate Ajay Tamta will file his nomination on March 26, Tehri candidate Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah and Garhwal candidate Anil Baluni will file their nomination on March 26 while Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar candidate Ajay Bhatt will file his nomination on March 27. Bhatt said that the party is entering the elections to make its victory emphatic. The aim of the party is not to defeat anyone but to gain the trust of the public in a broader sense.
Expressing his views, Dhami said that the atmosphere in the nation clearly shows that Modi is going to be re-elected for a third term. He averred that there is a great wave in favour of PM Modi and the BJP across the nation. The party is aiming to break all past records and dedicate the five parliamentary seats in Uttarakhand to Modi, he said. “There is enthusiasm in the people of Uttarakhand because of the developmental and public welfare works of the Central and State governments. In the recent past, I attended big programmes in 25 sites across the State. The presence of thousands of people in these events assures us that the people have faith in the works of the double-engine government,” the CM said.
He further spoke about the achievements of the global investors summit and major decisions of the State government like the strict anti-copying law. He said that Uttarakhand has become India’s first State where the Uniform Civil Code bill was passed in the Assembly and which was subsequently approved by the President. A committee is preparing guidelines for this Act which will ensure equal legal rights for all while also providing support, security and equality to all people including women and the elderly, he said.
During the event, the Gorkha Democratic Front announced its support to the BJP candidates. It has provided its support to the BJP candidates considering PM Modi’s development policies and the cultural nationalistic ideology of the BJP.
