The transfer season currently underway in the different departments of the State government is making things difficult for the ministers and the bureaucrats. Hordes of transfer aspirants can be seen these days at the residences and camp offices of the ministers. Many are also making a beeline at the offices of bureaucrats to get their favour for transfer at their desired place. Perturbed by the pressure of the transfer aspirants some senior officers have started refusing to meet them. Some officers have even pasted a notice outside their offices in the State secretariat that they will not meet or interact on transfer related issues.
The Secretary, R Rajesh Kumar told The Pioneer that the transfers will be done strictly on merit and in accordance with the transfers act and in such a situation there is no point in meeting the transfer aspirants.
As per the transfer act of 2017 the process of annual transfers of the employees should be completed before June 10. However in view of the recently held Lok Sabha elections the departments could not meet this dateline following which the State government has extended the date to July 10.
