Sports minister Rekha Arya said that Pithoragarh will become a hub for boxing, Speaking after inaugurating the multipurpose sports hall at the Hari Singh Thapa Sports College campus in Lelu on Friday, she emphasised that the State is entering a new era for sports and athletes.
Under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State government has created opportunities for those who excel in sports, alleviating concerns about their careers. Arya added that, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is preparing to host the Olympics soon. She expressed pride in Pithoragarh hosting a boxing event as part of the National Games, stating that it will inspire new boxing talent to emerge in the area.
Additionally, the Sports minister inspected the boxing venue and called for the prompt completion of the road leading to the multipurpose hall.
