PM appreciates Nainital’s Ghoda library

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the ‘Ghoda library’ being run by youths in Nainital district. He expressed his appreciation for this initiative during his 105th Mann Ki Baat programme on Sunday. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami listened to the programme at the DAV PG College here on Sunday. Dhami also inaugurated the work of construction of a smart library in the college on the occasion.
Dhami appreciated PM Modi referring to the ‘Ghoda library’ started by youths for children in Nainital. This unique initiative is enabling children in 12 remote villages of Nainital district to read not only school books but also books on poetry, moral education and story books. This effort is being appreciated greatly by the children. The CM said that the Mann Ki Baat is a programme in which the PM brings forward the commendable work being undertaken by people in common circumstances across the nation. This also motivates other people to work in various spheres. The CM said, “The nation is making progress swiftly in all sectors under the leadership of PM Modi. The government under his leadership is also undertaking various efforts for the uplift of women in the nation. The Women’s Reservation Bill providing 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabhas has been passed in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The State government is also working expeditiously to enable women empowerment. The State government has made provision for 30 per cent horizontal reservation for women in government jobs. A strict anti-copying law has been brought to ensure that all competitive exams are held in a transparent manner in the State. Uttarakhand is also moving forward swiftly towards implementation of the Uniform Civil Code,” said the CM.
Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Dass, DAV PG college principal KR Jain, faculty members and students were also present on the occasion.
