While speaking to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over phone to take stock of the multi-agency rescue operation to evacuate 41 labourers stuck in a collapsed Char Dham all-weather road tunnel at Silkyara in Uttarkashi district, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on taking care of the mental health of the trapped laborers. He also said that the Centre is providing all equipment and resources to the rescuers required for the evacuation operation. The CM told Modi that the Central and the State agencies involved in the rescue operation have been operating in perfect concord acting on the inputs provided by the experts and assured the PM that all the workers stranded in the tunnel were safe and fine with oxygen, nutritious food and drinking water being supplied to them.   Dhami further told the PM that he himself had conducted on-site inspection of the collapsed tunnel twice and had been monitoring things round the clock. Besides, teams have been deployed at the site to meet any medical emergencies, he told the PM. Notably, this is the third time PM Modi spoke to the CM on the Silkyara recue operation since a part of the tunnel collapsed stranding workers inside on November 12. Besides, a team from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has visited the site and has been monitoring the ongoing evacuation operations while facilitating coordination among the agencies involved in them.
