We were expecting PM to say something on Ankita Bhandari murder case & jobs scam: Godiyal
The Uttarakhand Congress has said that the people of Uttarakhand were expecting that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would say something in the Ankita Bhandari murder case and the jobs scam in Uttarakhand during his visit to the State on Friday. Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal told The Pioneer that the Ankita Bhandari murder case and the job scam in Uttarakhand are the two raging issues in Uttarakhand and everyone hoped the PM would say something about them but it is unfortunate that he failed to utter a single word about them. He said that the Congress has been consistently saying that the PM says and tweets about many national and international issues but he didn’t say anything in the Ankita Bhandari case that has enraged the whole of the State. “We had hoped that the PM would say something about the Ankita Bhandari murder case and given his style could even bring the so called VIP involved in the case to fore and assure people that strictest possible punishment is given to him. We also hoped that he would remove the ministers responsible for selling government jobs, but he said nothing on these issues,’’ he said.
Raising a question about the dress the PM wore in the Kedarnath, Godiyal said that being PM everyone welcomes Modi in the Uttarakhand and temples but his dress designers should not have avoided putting holy Swastika on his back. “It would have been better if the Swastika sign was placed on his headgear,’’ he said.
The former MLA of Kedarnath, Manoj Rawat said that PM Modi keeps on coming to Uttarakhand but even then the law and order situation is very bad and the level of corruption is at an all time high. He said that it is unfortunate that instead of giving a stern message on job scams in Uttarakhand the PM kept one of the ministers involved in the backdoor appointments in Vidhan Sabha with him which is akin to giving him a clean chit. Rawat added that it is for the sixth time PM Modi has visited Kedarnath but nothing has changed there in the area in the last eight years.
