PM inaugurates revamped Ayodhya rail stn, flags off 8 trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the renovated Ayodhya railway station and flagged off two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains, some virtually. He is scheduled to inaugurate an airport in the pilgrimage town and also lay the foundation stones for a slew of development projects. The PM held a roadshow from the airport to the railway station amidst warm greeting from the people who had gathered along its route. During the inauguration of the rail station, he was accompanied by the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The officials in the know said that the phase-I of the refurbished station — Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station — had been completed at a cost of over Rs 240 crore. On the occasion, the PM flagged off two new Amrit Bharat trains — Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and the Malda Town-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express. Further, he flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Mangalore-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express and Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Vande Bharat Express. This aside, Modi is slated to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of a string of development projects worth over Rs 15,700 crore for Uttar Pradesh.
