The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is engaging in politics of religion and caste. In a statement released to the media he said that the election speeches of PM Modi can only create divisions and animosity in the society.
He said that the manner in which PM Modi changes colours in every election can put even the chameleon to shame. Mahara opined that Modi is trying to hide the failures of 10 years of his tenure as PM under the garb of religion. “The speeches of the PM start with the use of bad words for the Congress and Gandhi family and end with criticising other religions. Not even a single word in his speech is dedicated to the achievements of his government,’’ he said.
The PCC president challenged that PM Modi and BJP should go to the people with promises it made in the elections of 2014 and 2019. He said that the PM is not doing this because the people will know that the election promises have turned out to be a bundle of lies.
Mahara said that PM Modi has so much hatred towards other religions that he compares the election manifesto of Congress party with that of Muslim league. It is a shame that he talks about snatching away the Mangalsutra of women. He added that no one would have believed that PM Modi will stoop down to such a low level for power that in his election speeches he is spreading hatred against a particular religion.
