Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Dehradun on Saturday ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth Rs 18000 crores. Among these projects is the Delhi- Dehradun Economic Corridor which will be built at the cost of Rs 8300 crores. The project is expected to reduce the travel distance of Dehradun to Delhi from six hours to around two and a half hours and will therefore provide smooth connectivity between the cities. This is the third time Modi is visiting Uttarakhand. He greeted all Uttarakhandis in Garhwali and said that the development of the state is a top priority. He also said that in the last 5 years the central government has sanctioned projects more than 1 lakh crores.
