Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the 12ft tall statue of Shri Adi Shankaracharya in Kedarnath. Along with this, he inaugurated the Shankaracharya Samadhi. It has been rebuilt after 2013 floods.
He reached the Kedarnath Dham in the morning via Dehradun airport to offer his prayers at the temple. This is the 5th time he visited Kedarnath. Numerous redevelopment projects worth 400 crores have been announced by him.
He sat at the foot of the statue for a while and reviewed the reconstruction work carried out over the last few years.
