Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Uttarakhand on March 6. After arriving in Dehradun, he is scheduled to visit Uttarkashi district where he will go to Harshil where he is slated to address the public and offer prayers at Mukhba, the winter abode of goddess Ganga. Welcoming this development, the Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that the PM’s visit to Uttarkashi will boost the State government’s efforts to encourage the winter Yatra.

The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said, “PM Modi’s visit to Uttarakhand is no less than a festive occasion for the people here as all know about his special affection for the State. This is the reason why he works like a natural brand ambassador for the all-round development, spiritual and cultural prestige of the State. Earlier, the PM had visited Kedarnath and Badrinath, taking the Char Dham Yatra to record heights. Now, after chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami started the winter Yatra, the PM talked about it on various platforms to encourage it. This visit will prove instrumental in further strengthening the State’s economy and establishing the winter Yatra on the global platform,” Bhatt said.

Informing about the PM’s planned visit, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the PM’s earlier visit scheduled on February 27 was postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled to March 6. He will arrive at Dehradun airport at 8 AM and depart for Harshil from there. After addressing a public gathering at Harshil, the PM will leave for Mukhba where he will offer prayers to goddess Ganga. He will leave for Delhi at 1:30 PM on the same day.
