PM’s visit to lend wings to winter Char Dham Yatra: CM

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Harshil-Mukhwa area will give a major push to the winter Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand. He said that the PM’s visit will also help in boosting prosperity in the State. The CM visited Uttarkashi district on Monday to take stock of the preparations being made for the visit of PM Modi slated for February 27.

He said that the Harshil- Mukhwa area and people of Uttarakhand are ready to welcome the PM.

 Dhami said that the visit of the PM will boost tourism in the Harshil- Mukhwa  area which is known for its unmatched natural beauty. The PM’s visit will also give publicity to the winter Char Dham Yatra and the number of pilgrims visiting the State for this Yatra is bound to increase further. 

The CM said that the visit of the PM has always remained auspicious for Utatrakhand. He said that after the visit of PM to Kedarnath, Mana and Adi Kailash, the number of pilgrims and tourists visiting these places has witnessed a major surge.

Similarly in the Investors Summit attended by the PM Modi, memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore were inked. The projects worth Rs 80,000 crore have been grounded so far, he added.

 The CM further said that the inauguration of the 38th National Games by PM Modi has also proved beneficial for the State. He said that the organisation of these games has increased the prestige of Uttarakhand. In the medal tally too, Uttarakhand jumped to seventh position in these games from 25th position it got in the 37th National Games.

In his visit the CM inspected arrangements from Harshil to Mukhwa village. He directed the officers to make proper arrangements to ensure that the visit of the PM becomes memorable.  The CM also inspected the ground and the stage in Harshil for the public meeting of PM Modi. At Mukhwa, the winter abode of the presiding goddess of Gangotri, the CM offered prayers at the Ganga temple and inspected arrangements for the visit of PM.

The district magistrate of Uttarkashi Meharban Singh Bisht informed the CM about the administration’s preparedness and arrangements for the PM’s visit. He said that an exhibition depicting local products and handicraft will be organised during the PM’s visit.

Chief secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Sachin Kurve, additional director general police V Murugeshan and other senior officers accompanied the CM.

 Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan, superintendent of police Sarita Dobhal and others were present on the occasion.
