The Dehradun circle of Punjab National Bank (PNB) celebrated its 130th foundation day here on Friday. The senior PNB officials said that the bank, founded by the freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai along with several other leaders in 1894, has over 10,000 branches spread across the country with a customer base of over 180 million. To commemorate the occasion, the Dehradun circle organised a programme addressed by the circle head, Dehradun, Viraj Dogra. Health check-up camps were organised by the circle office, Dehradun at several locations. The organisers further said that as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), school bags were distributed among needy students of several schools, including Rajkiya Purva Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Rajpur Road; Government Primary School, Purkul Gaon and Government Public School Nanoorkhera.
