The police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each on Deepak Mittal and his wife Rakhi Mittal for defrauding people of their money in lieu of selling flats in Dehradun. Eight cases are registered against them in Dalanwala and Rajpur police stations on charges of defrauding people and the police have filed chargesheet in six of the cases.
The police have also registered a case against them under the Gangster Act, said the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar. He said that the duo has reportedly scammed people in about three different projects named Orchid Park near Sahastradhara helipad, Eminent Height in Dalanwala area and Upscale Living.
The police are investigating the matter and have also collected new evidence regarding transactions like bank details that revealed that many white collared people are also involved in these scams. He said that the police teams are thoroughly investigating the matter. He claimed that the police have increased the scope of its investigation in all cases registered against both the accused. The police suspect the involvement of many white-collared people in this scam who are presently on the police’s radar and action will be taken against them soon, added the SSP.
