The Chamoli police have arrested a teacher accused of molesting a school girl. The Chamoli deputy education officer and the family of the girl student had lodged a complaint in the Joshimath police Kotwali stating that the teacher Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui (48) had molested the girl student on March 7, 18 and 21.
The police lodged a case against Siddiqui under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Considering the seriousness of the allegations, a police team was formed to arrest the accused without delay.
Using mobile phone surveillance and other aids, the police managed to arrest the accused from Kothiyalsain in the Chamoli district. The accused will be presented in the court soon, officials said.
