The police arrested three men accused in the murder of an aged woman over a minor argument in the Raiwala area of Dehradun district. The violent altercation took place on Friday night, with the police arresting the three named accused within 24 hours of the case being lodged. The officials said that according to the complaint filed by Haripurkalan resident Ritesh Gupta, the incident occurred on the night of Friday when a heated dispute over a trivial matter escalated into violence and the accused, Rishabh Dhiman, Rahul Dhiman and others allegedly attacked him and his family members with iron rods and sticks. The brutal assault left several members of the family injured and his mother, Meera Devi, succumbed to her injuries while being taken to a government hospital. The officials said that based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 103(2), 117(4), 191(3), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Rishabh Dhiman and others. Given the severity of the crime, a special police team was formed at the Raiwala police station to investigate the matter. The team analysed CCTV footage from the crime scene and collected crucial evidence. The officials said that with the help of local intelligenece, the police tracked down and arrested three accused within 24 hours of the crime. The weapons used in the murder, including two iron rods and a wooden stick, were also recovered from their possession. The arrested individuals were identified as Rishabh Dhiman, Rahul Dhiman and Sachin Dhiman. The officials said that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure strict legal action against the perpetrators in the case.
