The police have released the traffic control room number 7579278154 to address any traffic-related issues faced by students appearing in the board examinations during the Vidhan Sabha session starting on Tuesday in Dehradun. They assured that students studying in schools within the city limits will not be stopped under any circumstances.
However, the police have also requested parents to ensure that their children leave for the examination centre on time and, if possible, use alternative routes to avoid delays. Several students and parents had expressed concerns about traffic movement during the class X and XII board exams coinciding with the Vidhan Sabha session, which is set to begin on Tuesday. The police install barriers and reroute traffic during every Vidhan Sabha session, affecting the usual flow of movement, causing congestion on various routes.
Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has also directed authorities to ensure that students and ambulances do not face difficulties in reaching their destination during the session. Regarding the issue, the Dehradun superintendent of police (City) Pramod Kumar told The Pioneer that if any student faces traffic-related difficulties, they can contact control room number 112 or the traffic control room number 7579278154 for assistance. He assured that police will take immediate action to resolve such problems.
He also advised parents to send their children early to avoid any inconvenience. He added that police will ensure that students reach their examination centres on time, either by directing them through alternative routes or temporarily removing barricades when necessary.
