Police begin interacting in villages transferred from revenue police

With 270 villages in Pauri district being transferred from the jurisdiction of the revenue police to the regular police in phases, the police personnel have started interacting with the villagers affected by the decision of the State government. Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey has instructed all the police station in-charges concerned to ensure proper patrolling and other necessary measures in villages brought under the jurisdiction of the regular police. The police have started to visit villages and interact with the residents. Additional superintendent of police and circle officer Shyam Dutt Nautiyal visited different villages of Yamkeshwar and informed the villagers about the Yamkeshwar police station. The police station will be established in Yamkeshwar with more than 171 villages being transferred to its purview from the revenue police. One police post will be established in Beeronkhal with 99 villages under its jurisdiction. In addition to this 148 villages have been transferred from revenue police to regular police in seven police stations of the district which include eight villages under Lakshmanjhula police station, one under Devprayag police station, five under Satpuli police station, 48 under Lansdowne police station, 74 under Kotdwar police station and 10 villages under Rikhnikhal police station.
