Police book former MLA based on constable’s complaint

The Dehradun police have lodged a case against former Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ for allegedly manhandling a policeman deployed for his security. According to the police, constable Gokul Prasad Yadav, currently posted at police lines, Roshanabad in Haridwar submitted an application in Dalanwala police station that he has been posted for the former MLA’s security since January 30 this year. He alleged that Singh often misbehaves with him and verbally abuses him if work is not done as desired.
On February 8, the former MLA manhandled him at his Mohini Road residence in Dehradun. The constable has alleged that Singh verbally abused and threatened him which hampered government work. The constable first informed his seniors in Haridwar about this incident and on Saturday he submitted his complaint in the Dalanwala police station in Dehradun. The police have lodged a case under various sections of the IPC.Earlier in December 2022, a case had been lodged against Singh for hampering government work and allegedly threatening the then in-charge of Dalanwala police station.
