The police have booked a man in the case in which the decomposed bodies of a couple- Kashif (25) and Anam (22) were found in a house in the Clement Town area on June 13. The father of Kashif has accused the brother of his daughter-in-law Anam of killing the couple regarding a property matter, as per the police.
The police said that they have registered a case against the brother Shahbaz and are probing the matter. The police were earlier speculating that the death of the couple was by suicide. Their decomposed bodies were found in their rented house on Turner Road in the Clement Town area on June 13 along with their five-day-old son who was crying between the bodies. The boy was immediately taken to the hospital and is admitted to the hospital since then for treatment.
The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar said at that time that it appeared to be a suicide case in the preliminary investigation. He said that Kashif was in heavy debt to many people who were allegedly pressurising him to pay their money back. Many were also consistently approaching him which is possibly one of the reasons the couple used to keep their front door locked. He was also allegedly disturbed because of a clash in his family, said SSP. However, the police have stated that they are investigating the case from all possible angles.
