Police bust sex racket in prominent Haridwar society

Three women rescued, five accused men arrested from apartment
The Haridwar police have busted a sex racket being operated from an apartment in a prominent residential colony in the Jwalapur Kotwali area of Haridwar. The police rescued three women from West Bengal reportedly forced into prostitution and also arrested two touts and three clients after raiding the location in the Jurs Country society here late on Friday night. The police said that incriminating material had been recovered from the apartment and a case has been registered against the five accused.
The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh informed on Saturday that complaints of illegal activities were being received by the police from some residents of Jurs Country apartments. After receiving a tip off from an informer, the police raided flat number 515 late on Friday night. Two persons identified as the touts- Uttamnagar, Delhi resident Shubhakar Dutt and Ghospara, West Bengal resident Arun Kumar were caught from the flat. The alleged clients identified as Laksar resident Anuj Kumar, Badshahpur resident Yogesh and Laksar resident Abhishek were also caught by the police from the apartment. The SSP said that the police will take strict action against persons operating sex rackets in this manner in the district.
It is pertinent to mention here that Jurs Country is a major residential society in Haridwar with thousands of residents. The operation of a sex racket in this society has also raised questions at the management and security in the locality.
